Brake Rotors
The Process:
Cryogenic Engineering treats brake rotors, drums, and
other components with a proprietary computer controlled treatment process that
includes a Deep Cryogenic Tempering at -300° F. This process
changes the molecular structure of the brake component resulting in a more
durable grain in the material. This translates into significantly greater wear properties, less friction, and
greatly reduces warping, cracking, and heat checking. Unlike a coating, this process lasts the entire life of the
component. If you turn your brake rotors or drums, you will again have the extended life that the process
provided from the initial treatment. Additionally, re-turning is easier with less material removal necessary
because of the refined grain structure.
The Savings:
The savings you will experience from:
- Extended Service Life
- The life of a brake component will be significantly increased. Ambulance, taxi, police, and other fleet operators report up to 300% -
400% increase in component service life after Deep Cryogenic Tempering.
- Reduced Maintenance
- Less maintenance is required, dramatically reducing parts and labor costs.
- Increased Productivity
- Less vehicle downtime translates into increased productivity.
Who can benefit from treatment?
- Mass Transit Buses
- Tractor-trailer Fleets
- Law Enforcement Vehicles
- School Buses
- Ambulances
- Racing Teams
- Taxi fleets
- Government fleets
- Delivery and courier vehicles
Untreated vs. Treated
Having undergone Deep Cryogenic Tempering, brake rotors remain
serviceable 3-4 times longer. Vehicles with treated rotors and drums require less frequent brake pad and shoe replacement.
